Erdrich Umformtechnik is seeking a skilled and motivated Change Over Specialist to support our manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient machine setups, smooth production transitions, and maximum equipment performance. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As a Change Over Specialist, you will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, maintaining quality standards, and helping drive operational excellence across our facility.

What You'll Do

Production & Machine Setup

• Perform machine and tooling changeovers according to production schedules and standardized procedures.
• Prepare equipment, tooling, and materials for production runs.
• Support production planning by ensuring machines are ready and available when needed.
• Troubleshoot setup-related issues and help minimize production downtime.
• Maintain accurate setup and production documentation.

Equipment & Maintenance Support

• Assist with preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability.
• Inspect tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Support maintenance teams during repairs and equipment improvements.
• Help identify opportunities to reduce setup times and improve machine performance.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Follow work instructions, quality procedures, and manufacturing specifications.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CIP/Kaizen) initiatives.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and 7S workplace organization efforts.
• Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, safety, and quality.

Team Support

• Provide technical guidance during setup and changeover activities.
• Assist with training operators on setup procedures and best practices.
• Support Shop Floor Management initiatives.
• Help production teams during bottlenecks or high-demand periods by operating equipment as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Promote a safe working environment and proactively identify hazards.
• Ensure equipment and work areas remain organized and compliant with company standards.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Vocational training, technical certification, or equivalent experience in manufacturing, metalworking, industrial maintenance, toolmaking, or a related field.
• Several years of manufacturing experience, preferably in metal forming or metal processing.
• Experience performing machine setups, tooling changes, and production changeovers.
• Ability to read blueprints and utilize precision measuring equipment.
• Forklift and crane operation experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Crane certification.
• Experience with SAP, Babtec, Microsoft Office, or similar manufacturing software systems.
• Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
