Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing both breakdown and routine preventative maintenance on production machinery. This includes troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and quality-related issues.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties required to maintain production and support equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on machinery using blueprints, equipment manuals, internet resources, and an advanced skill set in most of the following areas: pneumatics, PLCs, hydraulics, welding, and electrical systems, including high voltage (480V), 24V, and 120V controls.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on production machinery to prevent breakdowns, ensuring optimal performance of equipment across all voltage levels.
- Participate in all required safety and regulatory training to maintain compliance and perform job duties safely and effectively, especially when working with high-voltage systems.
- Follow plant safety rules, wear PPE as required, and consistently adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, especially when working with 480V and other hazardous voltages.
- Take initiative to resolve maintenance issues, work independently with minimal supervision on routine tasks, and seek guidance for newly introduced assignments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless equipment operation and process continuity.
- Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs, including special projects or tasks that require advanced technical expertise.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Availability to work a rotating 12-hour, night shift work schedule.
- High School diploma or GED (minimum).
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment, including hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems and low-voltage controls.
- Preferred technical degree in an industrial maintenance or related field.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to read complex blueprints, drawings, and notes. Competence in using computers for troubleshooting and researching issues.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the maintenance and repair of pneumatics, PLCs, machinery, hydraulics, welding, and electrical systems.
